In the logistics and freight forwarding domain, Emons Spedition GmbH stands for efficiency and innovation. As a company that frequently looks for potential to optimize and promote its projects, Emons set out to find a way to support its research activities. Tilo Hergarten, Head of Emons | DIGITAL, on how the collaboration developed: "We set out to find ways of promoting our projects. Among other things, we came across the retrospective research allowance and found innoscripta as our partner." Why did Emons decide not to handle the application for the tax research allowance internally? Tilo Hergarten elaborates, "The process of applying for the tax research allowance is lengthy and requires extensive knowledge. It is not an undertaking that we can manage on the side without prior knowledge. In addition, the flood of information about the research allowance can be overwhelming. The team at innoscripta helped us understand the process and provide the necessary documentation from the beginning." Although Emons had the internal resources to handle the application for the tax research allowance itself, it made a conscious decision to partner with innoscripta. Tilo Hergarten emphasizes, "We knew it would take a plethora of work to document our projects in an audit-proof manner. During collaboration we could rely on the innoscripta team to get the job done professionally and efficiently." Why did Emons Spedition GmbH decide to continue working with innoscripta? Musashi Europe GmbH, a leading supplier of precision parts for the automotive industry, was faced with the challenge of applying for a tax research allowance. In an interview with Walter Bläs, Director of Engineering at Musashi, we learn how innoscripta, with its innovative IMS software and expertise, helped the company to implement transparent R&D project management. In February 2021, Musashi Europe was made aware of the possibility of the tax research allowance. Walter Bläs recounts, "We had contact with various providers, but innoscripta stood out." Applying for the research allowance is not a simple process, and Musashi had little previous experience in this area. innoscripta's experts helped Musashi apply for the tax research allowance with the Bescheinigungsstelle Forschungszulage (BSFZ) and the tax office. They also assisted in applying for new tax credits and certifications. That gave Musashi the confidence to have innoscripta as an experienced partner at its side. innoscripta's IMS platform made cost accounting and documentation much easier. "We can prepare the documentation for the research allowance using Excel, but all the necessary data is stored in the IMS and documented in an audit-proof manner," says Walter Bläs. innoscripta convinced Musashi not only with its many years of experience but also with its innovative IMS platform. "I liked innoscripta's software. The user interface is structured and provides an excellent documentation basis," says Walter Bläs. Musashi Europe continues working with innoscripta to save time and focus on its core activities. "If something goes wrong or queries arise with the application, we can rest assured that a dedicated employee is always available at innoscripta. This leaves us more time to do what we enjoy doing: developing groundbreaking technologies," emphasizes Walter Bläs. He particularly appreciates the personal contact and the family atmosphere at innoscripta. Together with innoscripta, Musashi is optimistic about the future and looks forward to continuing the successful collaboration.

At SCHOTTEL, a leading global supplier of marine propulsion and manoeuvring systems, everything revolves around innovation and technological advancement. When the research tax credit got introduced in 2020, the company was faced with a challenge. Julian Kimmerl, R&D Engineer at SCHOTTEL, thinks back: "The problem at the beginning was that we had very little information on the subject. In 2021, we attended an information event organized by the Federal Ministry on the research tax allowance. Our technical manager then submitted an application for the tax research allowance, but without having much prior knowledge of the requirements. Shortly after, the application got rejected. We had experience with other funding programs, but we didn't have the internal resources to check why the application got rejected." The rejection of the first application for the tax research allowance was a turning point for SCHOTTEL. The company decided to bring in external experts to ensure that the application would be successful. Kimmerl emphasizes: "We wanted 100% certainty." The choice fell on innoscripta, a company with extensive experience in research grant applications and an almost flawless track record. Working with innoscripta gave SCHOTTEL the certainty that the application would go through. Julian Kimmerl explains: "We didn't want to expend any internal resources that might then be unsuccessful." Thanks to innoscripta, the process was well structured, and the company could focus on its core competencies. Kimmerl adds: "It was a structured process with deadlines, which was good for me as coordinator, but also for our project managers. We couldn't have set up the structure internally in this way." SCHOTTEL particularly appreciated innoscripta's expertise and the structure that the company brought to the process. The use of innoscripta's tax compliance software, IMS, proved to be extremely valuable. Julian Kimmerl emphasizes that thanks to innoscripta, the process was much more user-friendly and clearer than presented on the website of the Federal Office for Research Promotion (BSFZ). The innoscripta experts knew how to structure the project outlines to ensure the application was approved. Kimmerl proudly adds: "Six out of seven projects went straight through on the first submission, without any queries." innoscripta proved to be a valuable start-up aid for SCHOTTEL for research tax credits. The partnership between SCHOTTEL and innoscripta was a complete success. The expertise, structure and support of innoscripta have helped SCHOTTEL to realize the full potential of the research allowance and shape the future with innovation.

Working with innoscripta AG has helped Meffert AG Farbwerke enormously in applying for funding under the Research Grants Act. When we started the grant check, we were well aware of the potential of our research and development projects. However, we did not have sufficient internal resources to handle the downstream processes ourselves. Our partner, innoscripta took over the research grant application and the many administrative tasks for us. We would not have been able to handle this volume on our own. With the research grant experts at our side, we could ensure that all our activities were taken into account. The collaboration was characterized by transparent communication and a trusting working relationship. Combined with our numerous R&D topics worthy of funding, this led to a high funding rate retroactive to 2020. We would not have been able to achieve this without innoscripta's support. The Innovation Management System (IMS) was beneficial, especially concerning the time-consuming detailed work. We were particularly impressed by the fast response time of the team that drove the process, especially during the application phase. Overall, we can say that in innoscripta we have chosen a partner that is ideally suited to us. We look forward to working with innoscripta AG again with further research projects.

Over 1,400 companies have chosen innoscripta to safeguard their R&D investments.
