Meet Gemüsebau Steiner
Gemüsebau Steiner is a company focusing on producing fresh vegetables in Bavaria for Bavaria since 2014. The environmentally friendly cultivation, which began with 280,000 vegetable plants, has now grown into an enterprise operating modern greenhouses across Kirchweidach, Emmerting, and the Chiemgau region. Employing the unique renewable energy concept of combining geothermal heat with solar energy, the company grows its production completely without using fossil fuels.
Gemüsebau Steiner cultivates tomatoes, peppers, and strawberries with meticulous care and then harvests and packages them on-site, ensuring foremost freshness, aroma, and nutritional value. With more than 250 employees and years of deep experience in horticulture, the company stands for natural, fresh, and top-quality regional production. Certified quality standards such as Geprüfte Qualität Bayern and IFS demonstrate their value of fostering sustainability and premium quality.
The Challenge
The research allowance was a great opportunity to refinance a significant amount of the initial investment and R&D costs. Gemüsebau Steiner found the research allowance programme interesting as a way to obtain financial support, but was confronted with the following uncertainties in the initial phase:Zero prior experience with the research allowance
Potential need to allocate additional resources to proceed with the initiative
Uncertainty regarding the ultimate added value that the research allowance can bring.
The Solution
innoscripta started from the first step of introducing the research allowance programme to Gemüsebau Steiner. An informative explanation about every element of the programme resulted in utmost clarity. innoscripta handled the overall process and ensured only minimal effort was required from the Gemüsebau Steiner team in recording individual R&D projects. innoscripta defined the entire timeline with a clear view of expected deadlines of the programme, making the collaboration streamlined.
More importantly, innoscripta dove deep into understanding the R&D project of Gemüsebau Steiner to strategically support them, to leverage their innovations and acquire the funding.
The Impact
innoscripta's support enabled Gemüsebau Steiner to access funding through the research allowance, unlocking a significant amount of savings on both investment for innovation and R&D costs. As innoscripta comprehensively handled the funding process, Gemüsebau Steiner could remain focused and optimally utilise their resources on developing their cultivation system.
